Assistant Professor Recruitment in Kashmir University
Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Professors & Equivalent available in various Campuses/Departments/Institutes/Centres of the University of Kashmir carrying Pay Matrix Academic Level -10 of 7th CPC, (Rs. 57700-182400) plus allowances, as per details mentioned below:
Important Dates:
- Submission of Online Forms/Hard Copy: 20th December, 2023
- Last date for Submission of Online Forms: 19th January, 2024
- Last date for submission of Hard copy: 23rd January, 2024
Qualifications and Other Essential Requirements:
- Masters degree with 55% marks or equivalent from an Indian University or accredited foreign university.
- For specific posts, additional qualifications are required, such as PG Diploma in Remote Sensing for Geoinformatics.
- NET is compulsory for those with Post-Graduate Degrees, but candidates from UT of J&K without NET qualification can apply with SET as a compulsory requirement.
- Candidates with Ph.D. without NET/SET are exempt from NET/SET eligibility conditions, subject to certain criteria.
- Percentage equivalence of grade points for a seven-point scale is provided.

- Register as an applicant and remember the Username and Password.
- Login with the generated credentials.
- Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, experience, etc., and preview the form before submitting.
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 1050/- online.
- Submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.
Submission of Downloaded Application Form (Hard Copy):
- Submit the print-out of the online application form along with enclosures to the Deputy Registrar (Recruitment), Administrative Block, University Campus, Hazratbal, Srinagar-190006, J&K.
Shortlisting of Candidates:
- Shortlisting criteria as per UGC Regulations 2018 will be considered for interview only.
Other Conditions:
- Candidates must meet the UGC, University Grants Commission, and Union Ministry of Education guidelines.
- The number of vacancies is tentative and subject to change.
- EWS candidates must produce the EWS category certificate as per government guidelines.
- PWD candidates will be provided horizontal reservation.
- The University reserves the right not to fill any of the advertised vacancies.
- Candidates must produce original documents during the selection process.
- No TA/DA will be provided for the interview.
- Selected candidates will be placed on probation for one or two years.
